CHEM 222 - Organic Chemistry II Credits: 4 When Offered: Spring Prerequisite(s): CHEM 221 with a grade of “C” or higher.
This course is a continuation of CHEM 221 . Students investigate the stereochemistry, reactions and synthesis of various classes of organic compounds. The laboratory component of the course provides students with an opportunity to learn important techniques for synthesizing, isolating, purifying and characterizing organic compounds. Three lectures and one three-hour laboratory per week.
Note: Second semester of a two-semester sequence. This course requires the first semester course be taken prior to registering.
