MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Office of the International Student Program is to meet the needs of our international students and provide services and resources to assist them in achieving their personal and professional goals and empower them to become moral global leaders.
VISION
The Office of the International Student Program seeks to create a friendly environment for learning, social interactions and cultural conversations among international students, faculty and staff to support a community of different people and ideas.
INTRODUCTION
The Office of the International Student Program provides incoming and continuing students with complete support and services; the staff is here to answer your questions and assist you with any immigration-related matters that you might have.
The Office of the International Student Program serves as a liaison between Washington Adventist University international students and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and Student Exchange-Visitor Program (SEVP) in matters related to students on F1 visa status, studying and working in the United States.
Following are important areas that the office assists with:
- Immigration advising: rights and requirements
- Maintenance of F-1 Status
- Application for employment: On/off campus; Practical Optional Training (OPT), Curricular Practical Training (CPT)
- Application Procedure for Transfer Students
- Assistance with Academic/Non-academic matters
- Assistance with cultural adjustment and integration
