BIOL 432 - Introduction to Neurobiology Credits: 3 When Offered: Fall Prerequisite(s): BIOL 305 , BIOL 330 , CHEM 222 , and MATH 126 ; ENGL 101 , ENGL 102 and COMM 105 or ENGL 101H and ENGL 102 with a minimum grade of “C.”
This course introduces students to neurophysiological properties of neuronal membrane biophysics involved in cellular excitability during neural functions. The course then progresses to the study of neurophysiology of somatosensory, motor, learning and behavioral functions. Throughout the course, correlation to clinical neurological and neuropsychological conditions are addressed with vignettes of clinical cases.
