Corequisite(s): NURS 244 , NURS 256 . This course is an introduction to the history and theoretical foundations of professional nursing, including fundamental principles, concepts, values, and skills necessary to provide safe, quality nursing care across the life span. The course emphasizes critical thinking, communication skills, and the nursing process and includes theory, nursing skills laboratory, and clinical components. Three credits theory; 2 credits lab and clinical: lab = 40 hours and clinical 72 hours.
