MUHL 253 - Theory I

Prerequisite(s): MUHL 120 or placement by examination.

An integrated study of tonal harmony of the early Common Practice Period to include music fundamentals, principles of diatonic harmony, counterpoint, phrase structure, and short musical forms.

Note: First semester of a four-semester sequence. Credit may be received for the work of this course without the completion of the other courses in the sequence.
